Ideas are meant to be understood, experienced and remembered.

The ideas behind the work

My work is not a collection of projects. It is a collection of beliefs.

Across engineering, education, AI, assessment and innovation, I keep returning to the same question: How can we make an idea easier to enter, harder to forget and more useful to apply?

02 · ENGAGE

Stop Teaching. Start Engaging.

Attention cannot be demanded into existence. Curiosity has to be designed, participation has to be invited, and learning has to become an experience.

03 · REMEMBER

Make the idea stick.

When an abstract concept becomes a picture, story, object or experience, knowledge gets an anchor. Good teaching creates that anchor.

Everyday things. Hidden ideas.

Look closely. The ordinary is full of theory.

I often start with something people already understand — then use it as a doorway into something they thought they did not.

A cup of chai

Objects → Classes → Objects

A chai stall has ingredients, states, actions and customers. Suddenly attributes, methods and objects stop being textbook vocabulary and become something you can point at.

A classroom

Attention → Intention → Engagement

A teacher is not competing merely for silence. The real challenge is to turn attention into intention — the learner choosing to participate.

A traffic junction

Rules → Decisions → Algorithms

Signals, queues, priorities and exceptions are already around us. Computational thinking begins when we learn to see the pattern before writing the code.

A question

Curiosity → Inquiry → Learning

The answer closes a loop. The right question opens one. Curiosity is the curriculum when learning starts with the desire to know.

A multidisciplinary journey

Different fields. One recurring instinct.

Mechanical engineering, CAD, bioinformatics, IoT, robotics, AI, generative AI and agentic systems may look like separate chapters. I see them as different ways of solving the same problem: understand complexity, then make it useful.

1987 →

Engineering

Mechanical engineering became the first language for understanding machines, systems and how things work.

1993 →

Visualising complexity

CAD and interactive graphics reinforced a lifelong instinct: if you can see a system, you can reason about it.

2005 →

Bioinformatics

Data, biology and computation widened the lens — complexity became something to model, connect and interpret.

NOW

Agentic learning

AI, education and assessment converge into systems designed not merely to automate work, but to improve how humans learn.

Ideas made tangible

Four living experiments. One philosophy.

TeachGenie, Engageneering, Assess-A-Thon and MARS explore the same territory from different directions: better teaching, deeper engagement, stronger assessment and resilient technology.

At a glance

A career shaped by curiosity.

The numbers matter. But what matters more is what they represent: decades of crossing disciplines, building things, asking questions and trying to make ideas travel.
